Justin Smirlies

By obsessively examining, observing and wandering campus, Justin Smirlies will work many days and nights not doing important school work to get the latest and most important information about Wilfrid Laurier University’s campus out to the students, faculty and general public.
At the age of 16, Justin – who was predicted to be a mathematician by his classmates in his eighth grade yearbook – barely passed grade eleven mathematics, therefore crushing his parents’ dreams that he would be an astrophysicist or a professional chess player.
But by taking more writing orientated classes and actually reading a novel once in his life, Justin found a new passion in writing.
Currently, he is a third-year history and film studies student with hopes of also completing an English minor. After completing his undergrad, he plans to pursue a career as a writer. Or whatever pays him good cash.
He enjoys good food, music and beer, and likes to spend time playing guitar, reading articles and books and watching films.
